RN to MSN an alternative to the RN to BSN

Nursing is a rewarding field that opens the door to all who enter with enough hard work an preparation. Generally, a GPA of 3.O is required to enter into a one of the RN to MSN programs. If it has been a while since a prospective student has been in school, there may be some remedial course work that need to be taken. One may have to begin with the diploma program and progress until grades have increased to qualify for the program.

Not every school will offer all of the programs that are needed to obtain the degree and experience. However, many of the RN to MSN online programs cover a good selection from your desktop. It is like having the university coming to you during a time that is convenient. However, the remedial instruction may have to be taken at the local community college, or vocational school. Getting an online RN to MSN degree will be easy once the basic grades are improved. Infact, a student who needed to obtain their GED may be able to get it online. It will depend upon the state where they reside.

Once the basic academic requirements are met, the prospective student can enter the RN to MSN program that can be completed within thirty-six months. One doesn’t have to attend school to receive an associates degree and move into the four year BSN program. All of the certifications are credited while in the three year program. Licensing can be obtained at any level of education with limitations on each level of certification through an examination process.

Advanced Rn’s who practice as a clinical specialist, nurse anethesists, nurse-midwives, and nurse practitioners have to obtain a masters degree from one of the qualified RN to MSN schools who offer the program. An RN to MSN program can lead to qualifications for the Executive MSN program where those with management experience will be able to obtain the required skills to be considered for this leadership program. It is in the BSN, MSN, and higher that the practitioners are trained in areas of communication, leadership, and critical thinking. The MSN program offers the advantages that certifications below the graduate level will not be able to apply to obtain. The higher education level a prospect student earns will require more difficult work and GPA in order to stay in the program. Completion of the program does have its perks. Positions of administration may open for students who are successful. Research opportunity’s, teaching positions, and counselling jobs may be available to those who reach for the stars.
